ABOUT THE FABRIC

Are your clothing items OEKO-TEX CERTIFIED? Are they organic?

All the linen we use is OEKO-TEX certified. OEKO – TEX certifies that no harmful substances or chemicals which are known to be harmful to health were used.

Our clothing items are not organic, but we do not use any harmful substances or chemical additives.

CARE

We always recommend washing linen materials separately in lukewarm water 40°C/104°F or even cold water in a gentle machine cycle with the mild detergent formulated for delicate or linen fabrics. Do not use bleaching or detergents with color brighteners as they can discolor and weaken your linen sheets. Do not overload your machine, rinse your linen properly in order to remove any detergent or fabric softener residue.

Linen material can be tumble-dried on low heat. We recommend drying not completely, but leaving them a bit damp and hanging or laying flat to finish the drying process.

How do I wash my linen clothing?

Caring for linen is simple: you can both hand wash and machine wash linen items at low temperatures. Linen can be tumble dried on low heat. We don’t recommend using bleach or detergent with optical brighteners or harsh fragrances as they tend to weaken the fibers. For more details on linen care, read our Linen Care Guide.

Do linen clothing wrinkles easily?

Wrinkles are a natural part of linen fabric, regardless of the garment. They actually signify the quality of linen: more wrinkles means the linen is pure, less wrinkles means it might’ve been mixed with cotton. This is because the flax fibers are low in elasticity preventing linen from stretching, but also giving it a crumpled, lived-in texture.

How to iron linen clothing?

When it comes to reducing wrinkles, ironing is one way to go. However, it will hardly give you the smooth result you are looking for and it may weaken the fiber over time. If you do decide to iron your linens, do it while they are a little damp and use a quality steamer. Also, make sure you split the difference between natural linen wrinkles and folding lines: the latter can be removed while the former are a natural part of the linen fabric and texture.
